OSHA investigating worker's death at local refinery

(KMOV) – A worker at the Conoco-Philips refinery in Hartford, Illinois died after falling from a scaffold on Tuesday afternoon.

Bradley Edmund, 38, fell more than 45 feet from a scaffold after welding on a ground tank around 4 p.m on Tuesday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:26 p.m. with severe head and chest trauma.  No final cause of death has been determined pending completion of the investigation as well as the return of routine toxicology results. 

Edmund was employed by Matrix Service Company.

OSHA began a preliminary investigation of the incident this morning.
