(KMOV)-- A man has been charged with felony stealing by St. Charles police in relation to church burglaries.

According to police, Demetrius Brown, 49, was spotted on surveillance video at St. Roberts Church the same time the church was burglarized on June 21st. Nothing was taken from this church, officers believe it’s because the donation box was empty at the time.
Police also accuse Brown of stealing from St. Peters Church on June 18th, stealing a TV, camera, laptop and an undisclosed amount of cash. Authorities believe this is not the first time Brown stole from St. Peters.
Brown was caught on Saturday driving a white Ford Taurus with lots of damage, the same car that was on the surveillance video. Officers arrested Brown after being stopped for a traffic violation.
Brown is charged with 1st degree Burglary and Felony Stealing. His bond has been set at $50,000
