(KMOV) – An East St. Louis man has been charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery.
Christopher Davis, 24, was taken into custody Saturday morning for his involvement in the shooting and burglary that happened last January at the Logan’s Roadhouse in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Police say Davis, who was employed with the restaurant at the time of the incident, entered the building before it opened to the public with a mask and gun. He shot the store manager in the stomach during a holdup, and later fled the scene on foot with an uncertain amount of money.
The shooting victim, 47, is still recovering at St. Louis University Hospital.
Davis has been charged with armed violence and robbery, in addition to aggravated battery. He is currently being held on $500,000 bond.
Authorities believe another employee of Logan’s Roadhouse, or someone close to the business, was involved in the crime.
An investigation in ongoing.
