PERRYVILLE, Missouri (KMOV) – Two men are accused of leaving a 2-year-old girl in the car while they hung out inside a tavern in Perryville on Wednesday.

Joshua Loucks, 18, and James Waller, 26, were both charged with child endangerment.

Witnesses told police the men left Waller's step-daughter inside Louck's Mazda around 10:30 p.m. while they visited the 505 Club in the 200 block of North Main.

Police said the windows to the vehicle were closed and the doors were locked and the girl was found asleep in a car seat. She was not injured.

Waller told officers he was the only one to drink and they were not in the bar long. But a bartender told police that Waller had been there for more than an hour and drank three beers.

The child was later placed in the care of family services because her mother was in the hospital.
