ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Illinois (KMOV.com) -- A pregnant woman was charged Thursday in the stabbing of another pregnant woman at the St. Clair County jail earlier this month.
Damarsha Johnson, 17, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery and one count of unlawful restraint.
Master Sgt. Thomas Thrice of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department says Johnson and another pregnant woman were sharing a cell on May 3.
Deputies said when they went to bed, Johnson’s cellmate was wearing only underwear. Authorities said Johnson was angry about the woman’s choice of pajamas and stabbed the woman seven times with a pen.
Her bail has been set at $75,000. Johnson has also been placed in isolation.
The victim was in her first trimester and has since finished her sentence. The baby was not injured in the attack.
