2 St. Louisans face charges in Jamaican lottery scam

(KMOV.com) -- Two St. Louis men and a Jamaican face charges of targeting elderly victims with bogus lottery claims throughout the U.S.

Andre DePass and Jayneise Hampton allegedly scammed retirees by telling them they had won the Jamaican lottery, but needed the victims' social security numbers to pay out the winnings. Investigators say the pair then used this information to access the victims' social security and other accounts.

The two St. Louisans could face more than 40 years in prison as well as hefty fines.
