Grantfork students return to class after scary bus accident

GRANTFORK, Ill. (KMOV) -- Classes resumed Tuesday morning at Grantfork Upper Elementary school, one day after students were involved in a bus accident while returning from a field trip to Springfield, Illinois. 

Eleven students and the bus driver were injured in the crash.  One student was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital, but luckily, none of the injuries was life-threatening and everyone is expected to recover.
 
The school district's website says Grantfork Elementary is made up of 5th and 6th graders only and the school has 75 students. It is part of the Highland School district.
 
School counselors are expected to be on hand to help students who may be having trouble dealing with the aftermath of the accident.
