(KMOV.com) -- Police had to close down a riverfront road after an multi-vehicle accident
that sent three people to the hospital early Tuesday morning.
Police said the accident happened around 1:25 a.m. near the intersection of Lenore K. Sullivan Boulevard and Chouteau Avenue. A total of three cars were involved.
According to reports, nobody was seriously injured, but three women were transported to a St. Louis area hospital.
Police shut down Lenore K. Sullivan Boulevard, which runs along the Mississippi River riverfront in downtown St. Louis, from the Poplar Street Bridge to the Eads Bridge. The roadway has since reopened.
Authorities are investigating to find out how the accident happened.
