Accused kidnapper repents to News 4 as he is put into police cruiser

PINE LAWN, Mo. (KMOV) – An accused kidnapper breaks down moments after he is put in a police cruiser.

Damon Gaston told News 4 he wanted to apologize for kidnapping his girlfriend and her three-year-old daughter at gunpoint Sunday night in Pine Lawn.

“Really didn’t mean to do nothing I did,” Gaston said.  “I’m just sorry.  Sorry to everybody.  A good day turned bad.”

Police say Gaston used a fake gun to terrorize his girlfriend.  She was able to talk him into letting her and her child go because the child had been injured during the kidnapping.

The child was treated and released from St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
