BROOKLYN PARK, Minnesota—Authorities said Monday they have charged a person in last month’s fatal shooting of a suburban Minneapolis home daycare provider and her parents.
Police said 34-year-old Eddie Matthew Mosley, of St. Louis, is currently in custody. He has been charged with three felony counts of second-degree murder.
DeLois Brown, 59, and her parents, James Bolden, 82, and Clover Bolden, 81, were found shot to death in their home on April 9. At the time, police said a woman dropped her toddler at the home that morning but later saw someone suspicious in the area and called Brown. She said she spoke to Brown briefly before she heard the word “no” and the phone went dead.
She turned around and returned to the home, where she saw a man riding off on a bicycle with something under his coat. The door was open, and inside she found the three victims in a bedroom, police said.
“No! No!” the woman exclaimed to the 911 dispatcher. “They’re in their bed. ... There’s blood all over them.”
All three died of gunshot wounds, and Brown and her mother had been shot in the head.
The toddler wasn’t hurt.
Family members and friends said Brown’s husband, Joseph, died of pneumonia in February, and the Boldens had just moved to Minnesota from the St. Louis area so Brown could help care for them. James Bolden had diabetes and used a wheelchair.
