A major controversy regarding the use of the governor’s mansion in Illinois during Rod Blagojevich’s administration may be starting up again.
Governor Pat Quinn’s personal schedule shows he spent 40 nights in the mansion over the past year.
It costs Illinois taxpayers $500,000 a year to operate the mansion as the governor’s residence, which comes out to be $12,500 a night.
Many residents continue to argue the governor is spending too much time in Chicago and not enough time down state.
The governor’s schedule also showed that Quinn was only in Springfield for 68 days total over the past year.
