ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Police continue to look for suspects after a man was killed while sitting inside his vehicle nearly three years ago in north St. Louis.
Police said Timothy Cherry Jr. was driving a friend's car with three passengers inside on May 14, 2009 when they pulled into a McDonald's restaurant in the 3800 block of Lucas and Hunt.
Authorities said an unknown number of suspects approached and shot into the vehicle, striking Cherry Jr. in the head. Cherry Jr. lost control of the vehicle and it flipped as the passengers tried to escape.
Cherry was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (866)-371-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 will be given for information leading to an arrest.
