Former substitute teacher accused of sending nude photos to student

HOUSTON – A former substitute teacher at Westfield High School has been charged with online solicitation of a minor for allegedly sending nude photographs and sexual text messages to a student.

According to court documents, Tiffany Amos, 25, met the victim, then 16, while subbing at Westfield in March of 2012.

The victim told Spring ISD police that they exchanged cell phone numbers and began calling and texting one another.

At some point before his 17th birthday, the victim said Amos sent him nude photos of herself via multi-media message, as well as sexually explicit texts.

When police interviewed Amos, they said she admitted to sending the messages, and that she knew the victim’s age. She said on his 17th birthday – which she knew because she’d saved the date in her phone—she invited him over, and they began a sexual relationship.

Investigators said they conducted a forensic examination of the victim’s cell phone, and they found the photos.

Charges were filed on May 8, 2012.

Spring ISD released a statement on the case Thursday afternoon, saying that Amos was immediately terminated after the allegations came to light.

"The safety of our students is of the highest importance. The criminal history and references of job applicants, including those who apply to serve as substitutes, are routinely checked before they are hired. The district takes every allegation seriously and with the Spring ISD police department, will always conduct a thorough investigation," the statement read.
