FENTON, Mo. (KMOV) -- Traffic was backed up on Route 141 on Wednesday afternoon after a cut power line fell onto the roadway in Fenton.
According to Ameren, a non-affiliated worker cut the overhead primary power line in the area near Route 141 and Interstate 44 around 3 p.m. Police were forced to shut down the interstate for a brief time when the power lines fell onto it.
Around 3,200 customers, including several traffic lights, were without power following the incident.
According to witnesses, traffic was backed up at least a mile in both directions at Marshall.
