EAST ST. LOUIS, Il. (KMOV) – A group of East St. Louis High School alumni contacted News 4 after the bus they booked months in advance to take them to Memphis for a weekend trip never showed up.
The group waited in the Casino Queen parking lot for three hours and now say they can’t get their money back from the company they booked with.
After numerous calls to Lionel Watson of WGC Tours, the group decided to drive themselves to Memphis to present a college scholarship to a current East St. Louis High School student while also sightseeing.
“The thing that really upsets me is that we do a lot for the community and then you have people that prey on people,” Yvette Hicks, trip organizer, said. “We are not asking for anything. We are not taking anything. We are giving and then you take from us?”
Watson tells News 4 that the group will get their money back in seven to ten days.
