Attentive south St. Louis residents helps police bust mobile meth lab

(KMOV.com) -- Two men were arrested after a south St. Louis resident called police to report there was suspicious activity going on in a van near his home.

Around 10:15 Sunday night, police said they got a call from a south St. Louis resident reporting people "acting sketchy" in a white van near his home.  Officers responded to the 5000 block of Alaska to check everything out and saw two men in the van.  When officers approached the vehicle, they reported a heavy chemical smell.  Upon further investigation, officers found numerous chemicals used for meth making.  Authorities called the van a mobile meth lab.

A hazardous materials crew was called to clean up the scene and neutralize the chemicals.  The two men inside the van were taken into custody.
