Overland holds citizen training session to help fight crime

(KMOV.com) -- The Overland Police department is hold a block watch training session to educate citizens about how to spot and combat crime safely.

The workshop is planned for February 15th from 6-8 pm. The meeting will be held at the Overland Community Center at 9523 Lackland Road.

The session is a way for neighborhoods to organize block watch groups and form a partnership with law enforcement to fight crime. The people of Overland will have the opportunity to meet representatives and command staff from the police department.

Meetings will be held in the future to further citizens knowledge in reporting crime and suspicious activity.
