Student sent home for being drunk

TROY, Ill. (KMOV) -- Triad High School officials in Troy, Illinois say a student was sent home Monday afternoon for drinking in school. The student admitted to drinking Jack and Coke.

Teachers say the student was intoxicated. They say the student had slurring speech and glazed eyes. School administrators say they found the student's thermos containing an alcoholic beverage.

Charges for the student will be reviewed by the Madison County State's Attorney Office. The student was dismissed from school and is pending disciplinary action.
