Teen shot while riding a charter school bus in East St. Louis

(KMOV)—An 18-year-old was hit by a bullet while riding a charter school bus in East St. Louis Friday afternoon.

According to reports, an unknown suspect fired one shot through the front windshield of the Tomorrow's Builders Charter School bus on the 600 block of 7th Street at approximately 2:45 p.m.

The bus had 70 students on board ranging from 14-24-years-old.  An 18-year-old victim on board was grazed on the side of the head. The bullet then lodged into the back of a seat. The victim is expected to recover. No other students were injured.

Police are investigating this shooting; it is still unknown if this was an intentional shooting or a stray bullet.

The investigation is ongoing.
