(KMOV.com) -- The roadway on an overpass in downtown St. Louis collapsed Friday morning causing a potentially dangerous situation for drivers.
The collapse happend on 18th Street near Poplar Street, not far from Union Station. The northbound right turn lane at the location is affected. Police were notified of the issue and dispatched two officers to block the affected lane so cars would not drive over it.
The City Streets Department has been notified of the issue and are sending a crew to put up barricades until the damage can be fixed.
Officials did not say how long it will take to fix the hole. No injuries or vehicle damage was reported.
