(KMOV.COM) -- A passenger was shot in the buttocks while in a vehicle traveling on Interstate 44 in south St. Louis Wednesday night.
As the driver was exiting eastbound I-44 to head south on Interstate 55, both occupants heard a loud popping sound that they said sounded like gunfire. The driver pulled off the interstate only to discover three bullet holes in the car and one bullet hole in the passenger's buttocks.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the shooting.
