(KMOV.com) -- Family and friends of Jerry Clinton are mourning the loss of the influential business man and well known St. Louisan after he lost his battle with a rare cancer on Wednesday. He was 74.
Clinton was a very well-known business man in the St. Louis area and was also successful in helping bring the NFL back to St. Louis. He was also known for helping organize the Guns 'N' Hoses fundraiser. The fundraiser is synonymous for raising large amounts of money for families of fallen firefighters and police officers.
In 1980, Clinton bought Grey Eagle Distributors -- an Anheuser-Busch wholesaler based in Maryland Heights, Missouri. He sold the business in 2005.
Clinton died on Wednesday, January 18th after a long fought battle with a rare pancreatic and liver cancer.
Visitation will be held at Bopp Chapel on Monday, January 23rd, from 2 pm to 8 pm. The funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis on Lindell Blvd. at 9:30 am on Tuesday, January 24th. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in South County.
