(KMOV)- Forty-four dogs and one cat were rescued from an unlicensed breeding facility in Stone County, Missouri.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture found the animals living in extremely unsanitary conditions. Many of the dogs were living inside a trailer and were soaked with urine and covered in feces.
Others were found in chain linked kennels, also covered in feces. Rescuers said they were overwhelmed with the odor of ammonia when they entered the home.
They also said there was no water available in an outbuilding where more animals were held.
