Man arrested for $350,000 of cannabis in Troy, Illinois

MADISON COUNTY, Il. (KMOV) – Illinois State Police seized around $350,000 of cannabis, also known as marijuana, after a routine traffic stop near Troy, Illinois on January 10.
Refugio Salazar, 74, was stopped by the Illinois State Police for improper lane usage while traveling northbound on Interstate 55. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle after suspecting criminal activity.
A search of the vehicle revealed three bundles of cannabis hidden inside a stack of plywood. Salazar, Tulsa native, was then arrested for cannabis trafficking and is currently being held at Madison County jail on $250,000 bond.
