HOUSTON – Facebook’s “Year in Review” launched Thursday, giving users a personalized summary of their top 20 moments over the last 12 months.
The social network is just one of many websites that have delivered a look back at the “top” moments, stories, and posts in 2012. Facebook’s take on it, however, is more personal.
It’s not exactly clear how Facebook calculated the top moments for each of its users, although posts and status updates about job changes or relationship statuses always seemed to make the cut. Photos with a lot of comments from friends also frequently appeared in the top 20.
To access your year in review, check out your Facebook profile. You should see a box alerting you to it right above your Timeline. You can also go to http://www.facebook.com/yearinreview, and Facebook will point you in the right direction.
As a side note, you can also view your Facebook friends’ 2012 reviews. Just add their Facebook vanity URL/username to the end of the yearinreview URL. For instance, if you have a friend whose Facebook page URL is “facebook.com/susanweb11” then their Year in Review URL would be “facebook.com/yearinreview/susanweb11.”
