ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- An armed man held up a Subway restaurant in south St. Louis on Saturday night, marking the second robbery at the sandwich shop in less than a month.
The latest incident happened in the 3600 block of South Grand Boulevard around 9 p.m.
Authorities say a man walked into the restaurant with a gun and demanded money from the register. He pointed the weapon at employees, according to police, then fled the store with around $100 in cash.
The Subway location on South Grand was previously robbed on Nov. 15, and investigators say they believe the same man is behind both of the crimes.
One employee told News 4 she was working the register during the first robbery.
"In the meantime, while I was opening it, he was telling the girl who was working with me not to pick up the phone and call police, and he said he would shoot her if she did," she said.
Alderman Stephen Conway says while crime in south St. Louis is down, these robberies are concerning.
Police say an investigation into the robberies is ongoing.
