FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- An 86-year-old man was taken to the hospital after his Florissant home caught fire Sunday morning.

The home on the 2100 block of Lundy caught fire around 7 a.m. Sunday. The back of the house, where the kitchen is located, suffered major damage, as did the roof.

The homeowner was taken to DePaul Hospital where he is listed in good condition. Family members say he has lived in the home since the 1960s.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen and later spread to the home's attic.

Officials do not believe the fire is suspicious.
