ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – Authorities are seeking additional charges against a woman accused of trying to beat the demon out of her 92-year-old grandma, who died earlier this week.

Rachel Armstrong was initially charged Thursday with first-degree elderly abuse.

According to police, Armstrong was at her home in the 10000 block of Golf Crest in the Sappington area when she threw down her grandmother and stomped on her, breaking both her arms and eight ribs on November 12.

According to police, Armstrong thought her grandmother was a demon and tried to beat it out of her before tucking her in bed.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she died on Sunday.

St. Louis County Police said Armstrong later admitted to the beating.

Police was arrested and taken to the St. Louis County jail, where she remains with a $75,000 bond.

Authorities said they would seek additional charges after determining the victim’s death was a result of the beating.
