(KMOV) – Authorities are looking for a suspect who robbed a cab driver in St. Louis County early Tuesday morning.

According to police, a passenger got in a cab around 3:15 a.m. and asked to go to the corner of Ben Nevis and Spring Garden in Glasgow Village.

Police said upon their arrival, the cab driver asked for the fare and the passenger handed over a fake $100 bill.

The driver told the suspect he was unable to accept the money. Police said that’s when the suspect told the driver he had a pistol and wanted all of the victim’s money.

The passenger was handed an unknown amount of cash and fled the scene on foot.

The driver then drove to a nearby QuikTrip and called police.

Additional information was not immediately available.
