O’FALLON, Ill. -- Neighbors remember Nathan as a happy, energetic toddler who could be seen laughing and playing with his 32-year-old father outside their home along Joy Drive in O’Fallon.
Now, the little boy is dead—and his father, Wayne M. Hubert is accused of involuntary manslaughter after allegedly placing his 23-month-old son in a sweltering hot car, then passing out after drinking inside their O’Fallon home.
Hubert was released from the St. Clair County Jail on Saturday afternoon after posting a $25,000 bond, which is 10 percent of his $250,000 bail, according to the county sheriff’s office.
Neighbors told the Belleville News-Democrat that Hubert was a loving father.
