(KMOV) – Widespread rain hit the News 4 viewing area on Tuesday, a trend that is expected to stick around for most of the day, according to News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.
Tuesday morning started off with scattered light rain showers throughout the area as temperatures lingered near 50 degrees.
Ehrhardt says the widespread showers will continue into the afternoon, though most of the heavier stuff will be northwest of the St. Louis area.
“Once the afternoon hits we may get clipped by a quick shower here or there,” Ehrhardt said.
The showers will eventually taper off some time Tuesday night, but are again forecasted to develop overnight.
The rainy trend will continue on Wednesday, says Ehrhardt.
"Showers likely in the morning, tapering off in the early afternoon as they move east and out of the area," he said.
