(KMOV) -- Voters in Uplands Park on Tuesday will decide the fate of the troubled St. Louis County community.

The small village along Natural Bridge Rd. has major financial issues and currently has no police officers on staff.

Tuesday’s vote could dissolve the village, making it part of St. Louis County. There are people fighting for both sides of the issue, and it could be close because there are only about 300 registered voters to begin with.

Many taxpayers have complained that they keep sending money, but never get the services they’ve been promised.

Another St. Louis County community, St. George, ceased to exist in 2011 following a similar movement by residents.

News 4 will be sure to stay on top of the vote and will bring you the very latest at KMOV.com and News 4 at 5 and 6.
