(KMOV) -- A trial has begun for a 31-year-old Eureka woman who was babysitting when police say she shook a 13-month-old child to death.
Jennifer Winkler in 2011 was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Lily Rieger.
According to court documents, Winkler called 911 to report Riger became ill after she allegedly shook her. The child was taken to the hospital with a fractured skull and brain trauma.
She later died of her injuries.
