ST. LOUIS—A man known for his stirring renditions of the national anthem at St. Louis sporting events is OK after a series of gunshots near where he and his band had just performed.

Charles Glenn frequently performs “The Star Spangled Banner” at Cardinals, Rams and Blues games. KMOX Radio reports that Glenn and his band were packing up Friday night after a performance on the Queen of the Mississippi riverboat in St. Louis when he heard nearly two-dozen gunshots.

Glenn and others scurried to safety and were not injured. He says he doesn’t know if the bullets were aimed at the band, but he says he will no longer work on the riverfront after dark.

Police say they found no evidence of a shooting at the scene.
