No injuries after house fire in Godfrey

(KMOV.com) – Firefighters are investigating the cause of a Saturday morning house fire in Godfrey, Ill.

Firefighters said it occurred in the 300 block of Anthony Drive just before 11:00 a.m. Authorities said the fire was contained to the garage. According to firefighters, there was a person inside the garage at the time, but he ran upstairs to wake another person up and both of them got out of the house safely.

Nobody was injured. Authorities said the home sustained mostly water damage. The family who lives in the home will be staying somewhere else for the time being.
