Felony charges for drunk driver accused of killing officer and K-9

PONTIAC, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Felony charges have been filed against a drunk driver in Illinois for the death of a Pontiac Police officer and K-9.
Reports indicate that on October 30, Jason C. Collins,33, was driving his truck on northbound I-55 when his vehicle left the road and crashed into a police SUV. The impact of the crash killed the Officer, Casey Kohlmeier, and his K-9 partner, Draco.
Collins was detained when he left the hospital on October 31.
Collins has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence.He is currently being held in the Livingston County Jail.
