(KMOV) – A building partially collapsed in north St. Louis Wednesday afternoon, leaving a worker injured and several residents displaced.

According to a spokesperson with the St. Louis Fire Department, workers were repairing the back wall of a four-family home on the 1500 block of Mallinckrodt Street when the collapse occurred around 2 p.m.

One worker reportedly fell some distance when the wall came down. Authorities say he was hit by falling bricks and debris. He was transported to an area hospital, his condition was unknown.

The building inspector has condemned the structure, displacing five people from one unit and one person from the second unit.

The American Red Cross is at the scene attempting to relocate the residents.

It is still unclear if any residents were actually inside during the collapse. No residents were injured.
