(KMOV) – Police in Creve Coeur charged an employee of a medical practice on Thursday with stealing patients’ payments to the facility.

Chelsea Sleet, 30, was charged Thursday with felony stealing over $500 according to the Creve Coeur Police Department.

Between April and August, 2013, authorities believe Sleet stole more than $2,000 in cash from the business by misappropriating cash payments made by patients.

Sleet worked at the front desk of the medical practice, police said.

According to authorities, Sleet had previously confessed to her employers and agreed to pay the money back.

Sleet was arrested and once again admitted to taking the cash from the business.  However, she claimed to have only stolen $750 to cover the costs of her mother’s medical bills.

Bond for Sleet was set at $7,500.
