(KMOV)-- The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday various lanes on southbound Interstate 270 between Dorsett Road and Page Avenue will close.
Weather permitting, crews will close the exit lane to westbound Page Avenue/Route 364. The exit ramp at Page will remain open.
Crews will also close one lane of southbound I-270 between Dorsett and Page Avenue in preparation for bridge rehabilitation on the southbound I-270 Marine Avenue bridge. At 10 p.m., crews will close a second lane southbound.
The through lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 1.
All four through lanes will remain open on southbound I-270 between Dorsett and Page, but speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph and lanes will be shifted and narrowed with no shoulders.
Signs, lane markings and temporary rumble strips will be laid on the interstate to warn motorists of the approaching work zone and to guide motorists through the work zone.
The southbound exit only lane will remain closed during the southbound I-270 bridge over Marine rehabilitation. Motorists will need to be in the right lane of southbound I-270 to access Page Avenue/Route 364.
Officials believe the work on the southbound I-270 Marine Avenue bridge is expected to take about 6-8 weeks.
Once work is completed on the southbound section, crews will move to the northbound section of the I-270 bridge over Marine Avenue.
