Blagojevich takes stand for 3rd day

CHICAGO (AP) -- Rod Blagojevich is back on the witness stand. The impeached Illinois governor began his third day testifying at his corruption retrial in Chicago Tuesday. Blagojevich has so far only addressed about half of the allegations against him. The 54-year-old hasn't yet touched on the most serious accusation. That's the charge that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama's old U.S. Senate seat for a top job or campaign cash. His attorneys have said Blagojevich most likely wouldn't delve into that explosive allegation until later this week. For at least another day, he's expected to defend himself against accusations he endeavored to shake down executives by threatening to state decisions that would hurt their businesses. He faces a total of 20 counts. He's denied any wrongdoing. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
