Local talent scouting event should raise red flags for consumers

(KMOV) – An event taking place Memorial Day weekend promising to help turn children into stars should raise some red flags for parents before they decide to hand over their credit cards or cash.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel in downtown St. Louis, and is sponsored by a company called “THE.” One local woman wanted her money back after paying the company for her grandchildren’s future in entertainment, but was unable to get a refund, and could not even find the company on the Internet.

The Better Business Bureau says parents should exercise caution before signing up for the event.
