ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A former Goodwill executive from St. Louis has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for embezzling more than $1 million from the organization.
The U.S. Attorney's office in St. Louis says 45-year-old Ronald Partee was sentenced Wednesday to spend five years and 10 months in federal prison. Prosecutors say he used fraudulent bills, invoices and letters to Goodwill, duping accounts payable employees into drafting checks that he converted to his personal use.
When he pleaded guilty in January, Partee admitted that he used the money to buy vehicles, travel, and purchase tickets for sports and concerts.
He owes Goodwill $1.1 million.
Partee worked for several years in a variety of capacities at Goodwill, including benefits coordinator and assistant vice president for human resources.
