JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) -- The Missouri National Guard says it has about 220 members helping in the aftermath of the deadly Joplin tornado.
Guard members have been assisting in the search for survivors or victims in the rubble. They've also been helping with communications among emergency responders.
The Guard says it also expects to provide help with security and safety checks.
Some of the Guard members deployed to Joplin just recently finished helping in the response to flooding in southeast Missouri.
