Fans step up to the plate at Busch Stadium for Home Runs for Heroes

(KMOV)-- For the first time at Busch Stadium, fans have the opportunity to hit like their favorite Cardinals player. The first Home Runs For Heroes will be held on Sunday.

Participants will take batting practice from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to raise funds for The BackStoppers and Cardinals Care.

For a $500 entry fee, participants will be announced by the public address announcer, hear their favorite music played as they approach home plate, have their picture on the Busch Stadium scoreboard and have the opportunity to hit a home run during a three-minute, 30-pitch batting session.

Participants will also tour the Cardinals clubhouse, visit the KMOX Radio booth, receive photographs of their batting practice, receive a St. Louis Cardinals/ BackStoppers gift bag and become a member of The BackStoppers for a year.

The Cardinals are donating stadium and facilities use. Members of the Cardinals staff will coordinate activities.
