JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A trial judge and a state utilities regulator are among the three finalists for a seat on the Missouri Court of Appeals' Eastern District.
The vacancy was created by the appointment of Judge Nannette Baker as a federal magistrate.
A special nominating commission interviewed 20 applicants and announced the three finalists Thursday.
They are Hannibal resident Robert Clayton III, who serves on the Missouri Public Service Commission; St. Louis County Circuit Judge Michael Burton; and Patricia Hageman, the city counselor for St. Louis.
The slate of nominees now goes to Gov. Jay Nixon, who has 60 days to make the appointment.
