ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A local woman claims to have brought a pocket-knife past screeners at Lambert International Airport.
Kathy McCadden says she did not realize she had brought the pocket-knife in her carry-on bag with her when she flew from Lambert Airport on May 8.
She says during her layover in Houston, Transportation Security Administration screeners stopped her when she re-entered security.
Kathy has the receipt indicating that her knife was shipped back to her from Houston.
The Transportation Security Administration says it is not investigating the incident because no incident report was filed. It added that a private company, not TSA, was responsible for shipping the knife.
They issued a statement that read: "We continue to take the discovery of knives and other prohibited items seriously. However, in today's post 9/11 security environment, intelligence tells us our officers' greatest focus needs to be the biggest threat to aviation today -- explosives and explosives components.”
