ST. LOUIS (KMOV) –- Some St. Louis City aldermen criticized the streets department for poor trash pickup service and even non-service in some areas.
This is a disappointment to many residents, especially since the city now charges for trash pickup.
The problem includes overflowing dumpsters in alleys not being picked up. He says it took about 10 days, but much of the mess was cleaned up. However, a drive around St. Louis revealed old furniture put out beside dumpsters, there were very few overflowing ones. News 4 never saw an entire street with multiple messy dumpsters, but did see trash bags beside the dumpster.
The department is installing cameras not only to catch illegal dumping, but to also catch residents throwing their trash beside the dumpster.
If you have a problem on your street, Waelterman says to call the Citizen’s Service Bureau at 314-622-4800.
