Man in critical condition after north St. Louis shooting

(KMOV)-- A 42-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the chest in north St. Louis Monday afternoon. 

Authorities say the shooting occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Monday on the 5200 block of Wren.

According to authorities the victim and a family member were driving on Wren when two unknown black males
approached and started talking to the victim.

A third suspect walked up the
victim’s car and took out a gun. The victim was shot in the chest.
The family member drove the victim to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

According to the family
member, the victim received a phone call a few minutes before the incident and said he had to meet someone at that location.
The suspect who fired the weapon was described as a black male with medium complexion; about 6 feet tall, thin build, with a Mohawk hair style.

The investigation is ongoing.
