ROXANA, Ill. (AP) -- A southwestern Illinois boy escaped serious injury when a bank of lockers toppled onto him at a senior high school.
Officials did not immediately identify the boy injured in the locker room accident Monday morning at Roxana High School. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital for observation.
Fire Chief Daryl Trask tells the Telegraph of Alton the lockers were an older set, measuring about 12 feet in length and five to six feet high.
Assistant school district superintendent Vonda Starbuck says the school's maintenance crew is inspecting all the building's lockers to make sure they are safe.
