ST. CLAIR (KMOV)—St. Clair County is putting the final touches to a $445 million program to assist homeowners struggling with mortgage payments.
The Illinois Housing Development Authority will begin to take applications online after the St. Clair County approved participation in the program on Tuesday night.
Requirements to get assistance include being laid-off and being in or near foreclosure.
Payments are made for up to 18-months to assist struggling homeowners.
Please note the program is not fully implented yet.
